Project overview
Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island Cultural District brings together the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and the Zayed National Museum — each designed by world-renowned architects with radically complex geometries. BIM was essential for translating these visionary designs into buildable reality.
What made this project complex
Each museum features non-standard geometry — from the Louvre's floating dome to the Guggenheim's stacked gallery cones. Translating these complex forms into coordinated, constructable Revit models required parametric modelling expertise and advanced clash coordination.
How BIM coordination delivered
Complex geometry was generated through Rhino/Grasshopper and translated into Revit-native elements using adaptive components. Structural and MEP systems were modelled against the architectural forms, with Navisworks clash detection ensuring spatial compliance across all three museum projects.
Measurable outcomes
Translated complex architectural geometry into buildable BIM models
Coordinated 5 disciplines across 3 museum projects simultaneously
Achieved 92% clash resolution rate before construction
Enabled complex facade fabrication from BIM-derived shop drawings
