Overview
Unresolved clashes are one of the most common — and expensive — causes of construction delay. Our clash coordination service systematically detects and resolves conflicts across all disciplines before work begins on site.
Using Autodesk Navisworks, we federate models from all disciplines into a single environment and run structured clash tests against agreed tolerance rules. Each clash is classified, reported, and tracked through to resolution — with iterative re-runs ensuring the model is fully coordinated before construction.
We issue clash reports in BCF format, making them compatible with any BIM-authoring tool. All issues are tracked in a live coordination log, giving your team full visibility of outstanding and resolved items throughout the coordination process.
Capabilities
The types of clashes we detect and manage.
Hard Clash Detection
Identifies physical intersections between elements — pipes through beams, ducts through slabs. Every hard clash is logged, classified, and assigned for resolution.
Soft Clash Detection
Flags clearance violations — maintenance access zones, insulation tolerances, and minimum clearance requirements that hard clash detection misses.
Workflow / 4D Clashes
Time-based clash detection for construction sequencing — identifying elements that conflict at specific stages of the build programme.
Clash Report Generation
Detailed clash reports with screenshots, element IDs, location data, severity classification, and resolution recommendations for every discipline.
Our Process
From model receipt to fully coordinated sign-off.
Model Federation
All discipline models are federated into a single Navisworks NWD/NWF file, with consistent shared coordinates and agreed grid references.
Rule-Based Clash Testing
We define and run discipline-pair clash tests — Arch vs Structural, MEP vs Structural, MEP vs Architectural — using agreed tolerance rules.
Clash Review & Classification
Each clash is reviewed, classified by severity, and duplicates or false positives are filtered out before the report is issued.
Coordination Report Issued
A full clash report with annotated screenshots is distributed to each discipline for resolution, with a tracking log to manage response.
Model Updates & Re-run
Updated models are re-federated and clash tests re-run iteratively until all critical clashes are resolved and signed off.
