Project overview
The Trong Dong Stadium near Hanoi is set to become the world's largest stadium — designed with a form inspired by Vietnam's ancient bronze drums. At 135,000 seats, the project requires unprecedented structural and MEP coordination to ensure safety, comfort, and buildability.
What made this project complex
The stadium's organic roof geometry and massive span created complex structural challenges. MEP distribution to 135,000 seats — including HVAC, fire safety, and electrical systems — required precise routing through constrained structural zones.
How BIM coordination delivered
The roof structure was modelled parametrically in Revit with Dynamo scripts generating the complex geometry. MEP systems were routed through the structural model with bi-weekly clash detection cycles ensuring spatial coordination before steel fabrication.
Measurable outcomes
Parametrically modelled complex roof geometry using Dynamo
Coordinated MEP for 135,000-seat capacity across all zones
Reduced structural-MEP clashes by 88% before fabrication
Enabled off-site steel fabrication from BIM model data
