Project overview
The Line is NEOM's flagship project — a 170 km linear city in Saudi Arabia designed to house 9 million residents within mirrored walls rising 500 metres. A project of this scale and complexity is inconceivable without comprehensive BIM coordination across every discipline.
What made this project complex
No precedent exists for a building of this scale. Every system — structural, MEP, transportation, vertical circulation — must be coordinated within an entirely new urban typology. The linear form creates unique challenges for services distribution and construction sequencing.
How BIM coordination delivered
Modular BIM templates were developed for repeating residential, commercial, and infrastructure segments. Each module was coordinated independently before being federated into the master model. Custom Dynamo scripts automated repetitive modelling tasks across the 170 km length.
Measurable outcomes
Developed modular BIM templates for 200+ building typologies
Automated repetitive modelling with custom Dynamo scripts
Coordinated multi-discipline systems per linear segment
Enabled construction sequencing from BIM-derived schedules
